Mexican grey wolf, also known as lobo, is the largest wild canines in North America. Its scientific name is Canis lupus baileyi. It has a thick grayish-brown coat and weighs around 75 to 150 pounds.
In ancient times, they roamed across most of North America, but now their population has been reduced due to hunting and habitat loss. The Mexican grey wolf was listed as endangered in the US Endangered Species Act in 1973, and today there are only around 50-60 wolves remaining in the wild.
Despite its dwindling numbers, the Mexican grey wolf is a magnificent creature that plays an important role in maintaining the balance of their ecosystems. They help to keep deer populations under control by hunting them, which in turn helps other plants and animals coexist with them.
